If you’re a health fitness enthusiast then, you might have seen or heard of the 6 pack meal management lunch bags. They have been around for a while and they are a must have for meal management, especially for those who meal prep. I got the opportunity to see it in person at the 2016 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio. I was able to look inside the bag, touch it, and inspect it…as you do to get a good feel of it. A week or so later, Vitamin Shoppe had a sale for buy 1 and get one 1/2 off, this was a too good an opportunity for me to pass up so, I purchased 2 bags, the red and black innovator 300.
6 pack makes different bag styles and styles varying from purses, duffle bags, mini bags, totes, and backpacks. There is a 6 pack bag for everyone! I opted for the Innovator 300 which retails for $79.99 on the 6 pack website. It’s the perfect size for me, I can fit 3 meals, snacks, water bottles, protein shakes, and my supplements. These bags are great for anyone, if you’re a student the backpack would be great for you, you can put your meals for the day and you books and laptop and you’re set for the day, it keeps you focused and away from the school cafeteria pizzas. If you work 8-12 hours shifts, this bag is great, I work 12 hours shifts and I fit all my meals in there. The bag can be kept in the office and still keep your meal fresh for the entire 12 hour shift with the help of the ice packs that come with the bag.
The containers are great to help keep you on track with your portions, they are also microwavable and dish washer safe. The 6 pack bags are well made and well insulated. If you are serious about your fitness goals and want to stay on track this is definitely a bag that I would recommend. I noticed that I do more meal prepping now that I have this bag because I have no excuse not to, it has helped me stay on track.
I cook my meals on Sundays to get ready for the week, I cook multiple dishes at the same time and I make enough to last me at least until Thursday, sometimes it will last me until Friday. Make sure you have a good variety when you do your meal prepping, look up health recipes on pinterest, try new things, add new veggies and legumes and beans into your diet. The big mistake most people make is they cook one or two foods (like brown rice and chicken) and they get tired of eating the same thing by Wednesday and this can affect your fitness goals. It can lead to more cravings of unhealthy meals and make you go off track. So I can not stress this well enough, cook at least 3 different sides and 3 or 4 different main courses and change it every week.
Just be creative and open minded, go to the fresh market and pick up fruits and veggies you’ve never had before, look up recipes online, you never know what you might like. Attached are pictures to give you an idea of how much this bag can really hold.
6 pack bags are highly talked about in the fitness industry and I can see why. It’s also great for picnics and hiking (especially if you have the backpack) It’s also great for students who have practice/training after school. You can pack your kids meals for the day and for after school/before practice. Have a look around their website and see which bag is for you, you can find them in different stores (Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, 24 Hr Fitness) so you can get a good feel of the bag.
